I had a bad experience with Bita Gilani, the dentist here. She is not just unskilled but also dishonest. I don’t recommend her at all. I have already informed Inspektionen för vård och omsorg (IVO) two times, and they have started investigating the case.
The dentist, Bita Gilani, identified two cavities, one of which was beneath a crown on tooth #36. Bita Gilani assured me that the cavity beneath the crown is not deep and that the crown’s removal and subsequent refitting are routine.
Two days later, I returned to visit her for the agreed procedure. While she wanted to pull the crown out to access the tooth underneath the crown (tooth 36) to remove the cavity, the main part of the tooth came out with the crown, and the tooth broke. She applied improper force using hammers and pliers. Then, she started making excuses that the tooth had been broken before and that she had not made any mistakes. This contrasts her statement that the tooth underneath has only a minor cavity. The X-rays show no crack or damage on tooth 36.
Then, I visited another clinic for repair. The new dentist assessed the X-rays and confirmed that tooth 36 was completely healthy and had no crack or cavity. Indeed, the X-rays do not show signs of a cavity on tooth 36. This misdiagnosis raises serious concerns about Bita Gilani's honesty and intent, and it suggests a lack of competence or an intention to perform unnecessary procedures to gain financial benefits.
Unfortunately, that was not all. After checking the journal written by Bita Gilani, I realized it contains several wrong statements that contradict the actual events of my treatment. Indeed, she wrote wrong statements to cover up the truth and “mislead” any future review of the case. Below is a short list of some of them:
· “kronan 36 är fastkilad mellan 37 och 35. kronan lossnar när borras på 37mo”: This is absolutely wrong. The truth is that during my visit, the focus of her was the removal of the crown on tooth 36 to address a supposed cavity. While she was trying to pull the crown of tooth 36 out (not drilling on tooth 37) to access the cavity underneath “using hammers and pliers,” the main part of the tooth underneath (No. 36) came out with the crown. After breaking tooth 36, she worked on tooth 37. In fact, when she was drilling tooth 37, there was no tooth 36 to become loose as she had already broken tooth 36, and that’s funny that she wrote “kronan lossnar när borras på 37mo.”
· “Inspekterar att en bit av tandpelaren sitter fast i MKkrona”: This is funny. While she was pulling the crown out, the main part of tooth 36 came out with the crown because of the improper application of force by hammers and pliers.
· “Ger förslag att cemetera provisorisk kronan med Variolink”: This is funny. She mentioned that she could not even bond the broken tooth No. 36 due to an adjacent tooth (No. 37) having fillings.
· It is a shame that the dentist didn’t report in the journal that she “claimed” tooth 36 had a cavity.
· It is a shame that the dentist didn’t report in the journal that she used hammers and pliers to remove the crown.
This misrepresentation in the journal raises serious concerns about the accuracy and honesty of the documentation provided by Bita Gilani. Bita Gilani is big liars. She used to work at Tandhälsovården i Gävle, and due to her many mistakes, she was kicked out.
I am sharing my experience to raise awareness about dishonesty and lack of competence of her.
